Singapore to expand ocean CO2 removal project as scientists call for more research
Singapore is planning to expand a pilot project that boosts the ocean's capacity to absorb carbon dioxide emissions, using one of several emerging technologies that supporters hope can play a decisive role in the global battle against climate change. PUB, Singapore's national water agency, has built a plant that uses electricity to extract CO2 from seawater, allowing it to absorb more greenhouse gas from the atmosphere when it is pumped back out into the ocean.

Singapore GP pledges to halve F1 energy emissions by 2028
Singapore GP expects the initiative to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 52 per cent when fully implemented. The company intends to continue utilising RECs to offset remaining unavoidable emissions, following its move to purchase RECs to cover 85 per cent of its electricity consumption in the Circuit Park in 2022.

Tharman to be inaugurated as S'pore's 9th president on Sep. 14, 2023
The Inauguration of the ninth President of Singapore will be held on Thursday, Sep. 14, 2023 at the Istana, said the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Sep. 2. President-elect Tharman Shanmugaratnam claimed victory in the 2023 presidential election, emerging with 70.4 per cent of the valid votes in the three-cornered fight. He garnered 1,746,427 of the 2,480,760 votes cast for the candidates.

Immersive exhibition on Lee Kuan Yew’s life
A new exhibition on the life and work of Lee Kuan Yew, the first Prime Minister of independent Singapore, opened at the Pavilion in Pasir Panjang. The exhibition covers about 4,000 square meters and is dedicated to the centenary of Lee Kuan Yew's birth. The dates of the exhibition are September 15-17.
