Singapore sailors take 2 silvers, 2 bronzes at Asian Games in Hangzhou

More than a decade after his last Asian Games medal, two-time Games champion Justin Liu clinched a silver in the mixed Nacra 17 event at the Hangzhou Asian Games on Tuesday (Sep 26). And this was a finish to savour, for it was one the sailor earned by pairing up with his wife Denise Lim.

Queenstown forever: Residents rebuilding community museum to preserve collective memory

Local residents and volunteers will collect exhibits and help rebuild the My Queenstown Museum in the neighborhood of the same name. The museum plans to open in a larger facility in 2024.

Singapore rises to fifth place in Global Innovation Index 2023

Singapore has moved up two spots to fifth place in the Global Innovation Index (GII), leading the South-east Asia, East Asia and Oceania (SEAO) region. The GII is a global ranking of the world’s most innovative economies. This year, the index used 80 indicators to track innovation trends in 132 economies.

Generative AI being tested for use in Singapore Courts, starting with small claims tribunal

Litigants in Singapore could in the future tap generative artificial intelligence - which answers questions based on pre-loaded data - to help them with their claims or defence. Litigant can ask the AI what his rights are, what his next steps could be, whether there is a deadline, how much he could possibly get from his claim and what the legal costs are. Ideally, the AI would be able to inform the litigant how to proceed with his claim and point to the relevant websites and forms.
