SIA and Scoot to resume flights from Changi to five cities in China from Nov 26

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will resume flights to four cities in China from Nov 26, while budget carrier Scoot will relaunch its Singapore-Changsha route. All five routes had been halted in 2023. SIA will roll out services between Singapore and four destinations – Chongqing, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Xiamen – which had been suspended for regulatory reasons.

Early-bird tickets for F1 2024 sold out

Early-Bird tickets to the Formula 1 (F1) Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2024 are sold out, one month before the expected end of the promotional period. Sales of regular priced tickets will start at 10 am on Wednesday (Nov 1), ahead of schedule, said the race organiser Singapore GP on Monday.

T2 reopens after expansion to help Changi Airport cope with post-Covid capacity recovery

Changi Airport has reopened Terminal 2 (T2) after three and a half years of expansion works, as the air hub expects to welcome full passenger traffic recovery by 2024. T2 can now handle 28 million passengers or five million more annually, bringing Changi’s operating capacity to 90 million passengers a year across the four terminals.

Largest ActiveSG gym in Singapore opens in Sembawang

Residents in the north can now enjoy ActiveSG’s largest gym yet, a 1,500 sq m facility with two accompanying dance studios. Two dance studios adjacent to the gym will offer a variety of programmes such as Zumba, Piloxing and hatha yoga. These programmes will be available for booking in November.

New Science Centre in the Jurong Lake District is expected to open by the end of 2027

The centre will be about 25% larger than the current one, and offer a host of new features. The centre, which will be situated next to Chinese Gardens MRT station, will run programmes and workshops to meet the interests of students, he said, and feature modern themes like food security and sustainability. It will also provide spaces for innovation and tinkering, like specialised labs and indoor maker spaces for visitors to experiment with technology and tools.
