On March 19 - 26, 2023 with the organizational support of Russia-Singapore Business Council (RSBC) the Russian law students took part in the international competition organized in Hong Kong.
Vis East Moot is the largest international Willem C. Vis Award in the field of international commercial arbitration of disputes arising between countries; commercial law; private international law. Every year student teams from more than 150 universities all over the world, including Russian teams, take part in the competition.
At one of the plenary sessions of the Eastern Economic Forum 2022, RSBC Chairman Nikolay Volobuev emphasized the importance of developing new mechanisms for adjudicating legal disputes: "Today Asia-Pacific region is the largest global economic center. According to experts, over the past two decades the trade turnover between Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region has increased several times. The development of trade and industrial relations between Russia and APR countries and the increasing number of foreign trade contracts should provide modern and efficient mechanisms for dispute resolution; promote in-depth study of international commercial law and arbitration".
It is worth noting that Vis East Moot is an excellent venue for exchanging experiences and monitoring trends in modern law.
