M'sia Airlines operating flight to S'pore using fuel made from renewable waste & cooking oil on June 5, 2022
The Malaysian carrier will be operating passenger flights that use sustainable aviation fuel on June 5, in conjunction with World Environment Day.
The dedicated sustainable aviation fuel-powered flights will be operated on the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, using a blend of approximately 38 per cent sustainable aviation fuel and conventional jet fuel.
According to the flagship carrier, these flights reaffirm the airline's commitment to a sustainable future and mark significant progress toward developing a clean fuel source for scheduled flights by 2025.
"Compared to conventional fossil jet fuel, this sustainable fuel option, made from 100 per cent renewable waste and residue raw materials (such as cooking oil), can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 per cent," said Malaysia Airlines.

In Redefining Technology for a Better Future, Singapore calls for Openness, Vigilance and Collaboration

Singapore has always emphasised on a digital first strategy, investment in innovation and closing the digital divide. Singapore will look to unlock untapped opportunities through collaboration, working together to develop inclusive digital commons.

Japanese Prime Minister intends to take part in the Shangri-la Dialogue Forum in Singapore
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida plans to attend the Shangri-la Dialogue security forum in Singapore.
"If circumstances permit, the Prime Minister Kishida plans to attend the Shangri-la Dialogue forum in Singapore from June 10," said Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno.
In 2014, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe participated in the forum. Since then, Japan's premieres have not attended the Shangri-la Dialogue. The forum will be held in June 10-12 in Singapore.

Singapore’s quantum technology research gets a boost
Two new national quantum programmes under the Quantum Engineering Programme (QEP) 2.0 – the National Quantum Computing Hub (NQCH) and the National Quantum Fabless Foundry (NQFF) – were launched at ATxSG Summit. The QEP was set up to apply quantum technology to solve real-world challenges and develop Singapore’s quantum engineering capabilities.
NQCH will strengthen talent development and enable researchers to explore how quantum computing can support industries such the finance and chemical sectors. NQFF will support micro and nanofabrication of quantum devices.

Singapore-China cooperation moves to a “higher level” - Singapore President
Singapore, June 1/Xinhua/Singapore President Halimah Yacob on Tuesday said that Singapore-China relations have a strong foundation and a wide range of areas of cooperation, and friendly interactions between the two countries will continuously rise to a new level.
Having received credentials from the new Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Sun Haiyan, Halimah Yacob noted that cooperation between Singapore and China on a number of major projects has yielded significant results, the leaders of the two countries reached an important consensus related to the future development of bilateral relations, outlining bright prospects.
Sun Haiyan, in turn, assured: "I am ready to work with the Singapore government and all sectors of society to implement the agreements and develop Singapore-China relations."
