The Business Forum «Russia-Singapore Business Dialogue» is held annually by the Russia-Singapore Business Council with the support of the State Corporation «Rostec». The event is agreed by the High-level Russia-Singapore Inter-Governmental Commission.
The main purpose of the business dialogue is to further develop economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Singapore and to improve mutual access to markets for goods, services and investment, especially in the area of digital and innovative technologies.
Amid pandemic the business dialogue will be in a mixed format over teleconference bridge between Singapore, Vladivostok and Moscow. In Singapore, the event will take place in the Foreign Promotion Center of Russian High-Tech Companies and Presentation of Investment Projects, in Vladivostok - in the Far East Federal University on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The Forum will be attended by the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Singapore Svinin A.A., the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Singapore Soloviev A.S., representatives of the State Corporation «Rostec», Russian and Singaporean businesses, the management of the Russia-Singapore Business Council, as well as the members of the Russia-Singapore Youth Business Council. The theme of the V Russia-Singapore Business Dialogue is «Partnership in the era of digitization and new challenges of global security».
The COVID-19 has had a major impact on two important factors of long-term economic progress: innovation and global integration. Forced isolation has led to the digitization of various sectors of society. Thus, economic and social dependence on digital technologies has increased dramatically, and the vulnerability of individuals, businesses and Governments to cyberattacks has increased, that is why cooperation between Russia and Singapore in the field of e-commerce and cybersecurity, including on the basis of trusted platforms, is a priority.
Russia-Singapore trade relations are increasingly focused on trade in high-technology, client-oriented goods. It is against this background that stimulating the development of international cooperation, as well as creating a new generation of engineering and production personnel through cooperation in education, is becoming more urgent.
